Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Roaming Receipts website and app at roamingreceipts.com.

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Roaming Receipts helps groups track, split, and settle shared travel expenses. Features may include trip management, expense entry, receipt scanning, settlement summaries, trip photo feeds, friend lists, and email-based trip sharing.

The Service may include free and paid features. We may change, add, or remove parts of the Service at any time. Where a paid feature affects your rights, we will describe the applicable terms before you are charged.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to agree to these Terms.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us promptly at support@roamingreceipts.com.

You may sign up with email and password or, where available, through Google sign-in. Email verification may be required before full access is granted.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk to the Service or other users.

You agree not to:

• use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes;
• upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the Service;
• scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Service except as permitted by law;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
• upload content you do not have the right to share;
• upload or share content that is sexually explicit, obscene, or gratuitously violent;
• harass, abuse, or threaten other users;
• use the Service to process sensitive data you are not permitted to share.

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including trip data, expense records, photos, and receipt images (“User Content”). You give Roaming Receipts a license to host, store, process, display, and transmit your User Content only as needed to operate and maintain the Service.

When you invite others to a trip or add friends, you direct us to share relevant content with those people. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any personal information you submit about others, including email addresses used for trip invitations.

Uploaded images — including profile photos, receipt images, and trip feed photos — must relate to legitimate use of the Service and must not contain sexually explicit material, graphic violence, or other inappropriate content. We may remove content that violates these Terms and may suspend or terminate accounts accordingly.

Receipt scanning uses automated processing to suggest expense fields from an image. Results may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming all extracted values before saving or relying on them.

Roaming Receipts does not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice. The Service is a convenience tool for group expense tracking, not a substitute for professional advice or official financial records.

Some features may be offered free of charge. We may introduce subscriptions, one-time purchases, or other paid plans in the future.

If you purchase a paid plan, the price, billing interval, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be clearly shown at checkout or in your account settings before payment. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Unless stated otherwise at purchase, fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled through the method provided at purchase.

We may change pricing for future billing periods with reasonable advance notice. Price changes will not affect a billing period you have already paid for.

The Service integrates with third-party services such as Google sign-in, email delivery providers, cloud infrastructure, and payment processors when paid features are available. Your use of those services may be subject to their separate terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

The Service — including its software, design, branding, and documentation — is owned by Roaming Receipts or its licensors. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our written permission or where applicable law allows it.

The Service is provided as-is. We make no guarantees that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure. Settlement calculations, receipt scans, and currency conversions may not always be accurate — please double-check anything financially important.

We will do our best to keep the Service running and useful, but we cannot promise availability at any specific time.

To the extent permitted by law, Roaming Receipts is not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, including lost data or financial discrepancies caused by incorrect scan results or settlement calculations.

If you have a paid plan, our liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed what you paid us in the twelve months before the event. For free accounts, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, contact us at support@roamingreceipts.com.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or create security or legal risk. Sections covering ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability survive termination.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will give you notice by email or in-app notice before they take effect.

Continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective means you accept them.
